CHILDREN & YOUNG PEOPLE

Childhood is a period of rapid developmental change which can present unique challenges for both children and their parents.  Involving the family in the assessment and treatment of children and young people is beneficial and necessary.

Children age 3-12
We can work with you and your child to assess and support with a range of difficulties including anxiety and separation issues, school refusal, behavioural issues, family separation or grief and loss issues.
We can also work with neurodevelopmental disorders such as ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, fetal alcohol spectrum disorder and intellectual disability to improve functioning and social skills. Please note: We are unable to offer diagnostic assessments but can make some recommendations if needed.

Young People 12-18

Adolescence is another critical developmental period in terms of brain development and social and emotional development, as young people start to form their own individual identities outside of their family unit. This  is also a period where mental health concerns can begin to develop for young people. We are skilled at assessing and treating a range of disorders common in young people including anxiety and depression, school refusal, eating disorders, self-harm and family and relationship issues.

Rebates are available under Medicare with a Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP or under NDIS funding.
